WHY SHOULD YOU BECOME A PRECINCT COMMITTEEMAN/COMMITTEEWOMAN?

Republicans frequently ask this question. Often we assume that since we are registered Republicans; follow party happenings in the various media outlets and vote regularly for qualified Republican candidates, we are doing all we can to further the party’s goals. But there is more YOU can do!

By becoming a Republican Precinct Committeeman/Committeewoman (PC), which is essentially a neighborhood Party leader, you can take that next step in spreading the great Republican message of lower taxes, smaller government & more individual freedoms and liberties.

WHAT DOES A PRECINCT COMMITTEEMAN/COMMITTEEWOMAN DO?

Responsibilities include:

1. Attending monthly St. Johns County Republican Party meeting (first Thursday of every month)

2. Assisting the Republican Party with voter registration and door knocking and canvassing

3. Assisting the Republican Party in getting out the vote to elect Republican candidates

4. Promote ideals of the Republican Party and educate voters on the issues and candidates

5. Working with your District Chair to grow your precinct participation and recruit block captains

As a PC you will have the opportunity to attend many party functions from regular district meetings to county meetings and you will be kept informed about party activities and issues. You can acquire specific and accurate information regarding party positions and policies to “counter” the misinformation so often spread about Republicans by Democrats and the mainstream media. YOU too, can have a HUGE impact on the Republican Party.

BECOME INVOLVED AND INFLUENCE ELECTIONS!

Being a precinct Committeeman/Committeewoman allows you direct access to voters in your neighborhood who vote in the primary and general elections. A Republican PC is elected for a two-year term and represents 1000 voters in their neighborhood. Just imagine the change that could happen if all of our PC positions were filled and we were making contact with ALL of our Republican voters?

HOW MUCH TIME WILL IT TAKE? Simply put, the level of your participation depends on you.
